1. Dissolve the yeast with the sugar in a little of the water and leave for 10 minutes to activate.

2. In a large bowl add the flour and salt.

3. Add the yeast mixture and gradually the remaining water, kneading until the dough becomes soft and elastic.

4. Cover and let it rise for about 1 hour, until it doubles in size.

5. Shape into a loaf or round bread, place on a baking tray and let it rise again for 30 minutes.

6. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for 45-50 minutes, until golden brown and forms a crispy crust.
